Editing Summary Templates

This guide demonstrates how to edit summary templates. You can watch the accompanying video here:

Summary templates control fragments of what the user sees on the app intake. They can also organize the dashboard.

For example, the Party Info section of the app intake reads Mary S. Sue. We know this is a name but we can clarify that this is the client.

To clarify a client’s name in the app intake, navigate to the party model and name variable.

Enter the clarifying information. In our example, we are clarifying that this is the client:

Select Save. This now presents in the app intake as shown below:

To use a summary template to organize the dashboard, locate a catalog you wish to organize. In our example, it is the Sandbox. Yours may be Estate Planning or another catalog name. For help identifying catalogs, view the catalog lesson.

To add organization items, select variables to add to the summary template from the right-hand variables list. Do this by dragging and dropping or copying and pasting. In our example, we are organizing by client and spouse names.

You can also organize this by file numbers or however else you wish to organize your cases.

Select Save and navigate to the dashboard. You will not initially see the change take place—for the summary template changes to appear on the dashboard, select Review or Update and then Create Docs. Your dashboard should be updated to reflect the summary template changes.
