Naming Your Documents

Customizing the name of finished documents is important for the organization on your computer and for searching or sending the finished documents to others. Knackly makes it easy to customize the naming convention for finished documents.
By default, Knackly will name the finished document under the same naming convention as the template:
To update this, open the template you are updating in the Knackly Online Workspace. In our example, it is the ClientInfoSheet.
We will use the Assembled File Name section to customize the documents. Since this is a client information sheet, we will want the finished document to reflect that. In our example, we are using the client’s first and last name. You can certainly use a file number or any other organization convention.
To do this, drag and drop or copy and paste the client’s first and last name variables from the right-hand variables list.
Select Save. You will not initially see the change take place—for the naming changes to appear on the dashboard, select Review or Update and then Create Docs. Now the dashboard will be updated:
