Indenting Variables in Microsoft Word

This guide demonstrates how to indent variables in the Knackly Word Designer. You can watch the accompanying video here:

In some cases, starting a new paragraph with a variable is necessary. You may have tried and realized after creating the finished test document that the variable did not remain indented. 

To solve this problem and start a new paragraph with an indented variable, first select View and check the Ruler box.

The indent you intend to make should be flush with the left-hand text:

Insert your cursor in front of the text you intend to indent. Drag the top of the ruler to the position of your indent:

Repeat the process for any variables you need indented:

Note that if you have the formatting marks setting on, the → indent symbol will disappear if you use the ruler to indent the paragraph.
